Abbie Faye Bailey, of Blountstown, passed away on September 30, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family in Blountstown. She was born on October 6, 1942, in Altha, Florida.
Faye will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was deeply centered on those she loved. In her younger days, she was an athlete, and that same spirit of energy and encouragement stayed with her throughout her life. She was an avid ball mom and grandma who always supported and encouraged her children and grandchildren in sports. More than anything, she loved spending time with family and friends, and her steady presence brought warmth and strength to those around her. Her energy also was evident in her career as the county Ship/Weatherization Director for Calhoun County for 28 years and also assisting the Calhoun County 911 Dispatch for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Bailey (Terry) and Michael Bailey (Michelle); her sister, Margaret Warren; her grandchildren, Chad Bailey, Garrison Bailey, Brianna Bailey, Blase O'Bryan, Bailey O'Bryan, Heather Roberts (Chad), Crystal Thayer, Tyler Pelt (Victoria), Bryson Sumner, and Maknzie Bass; along with several great-grandchildren. Their lives carry forward the love, pride, and encouragement she gave so freely, and her memory will remain close to them in the many moments shared as a family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernwood Bailey; her daughter, Melissa Bailey O'Bryan; her brothers, Leon Bodiford and Caroll Bodiford; her sisters, Betty Cody and Janice Branch; and her parents, James and Carrean Bodiford.
A time of visitation will be held on October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dewayne Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery near Blountstown.
Faye will be lovingly remembered for her faithful support of her family, her joyful presence at games and gatherings, and the lasting love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.
