Annie Mae Alford Burge, 89 of Blountstown, Passed away June 2nd, 2021. Annie Mae was born November 5, 1931 in Apalachicola coming from a long line of oyster shuckers she later began work at a cigar factory in Quincy. This is where she would meet the love of her life J.R. Burge. They were married for 69 years which was filled with countless adventures. From traveling and camping across the country to raising three kids. Annie Mae would retire as a cafeteria manager within the school system. Upon retirement the two moved to Panama City, FL where they would reside for 30 years and was an active member of the Midway Baptist Church of Panama City while attending many gospel sings. Due to the hurricane they decided to come back home to Blountstown. She is preceded in death by her father, Andrew Jackson Alford; her mother, Annie Lou Alford; her brother, Doyal E. Alford; her brother, Joseph C. Alford; her sister, Zora Lee Alford. Survivors include: her husband, J.R. Burge; her daughter, Joye Carroll and husband Phillip Carroll of Enterprise, Alabama.; her daughter, Robin McNamara and husband Michael McNamara of Panama City; her son Jimmie Burge and wife Tracy Burge of Clarksville along with her fur baby, Chloe Noel; her grandkids Anna Fralick, Julie Burge, Brie Durrance, Robyn Myers, and Heather Porrata; her Sister in law, Tommie Landrum; her nephews, Johnny Alford, Joe Alford and wife Sandy Alford, Jimmy Alford and wife Debbie Alford, Stephen Hammonds and wife Debbie Hammonds; Her niece, Debi Bouchard and many other nephews, nieces and other extended family. Services to honor and to celebrate Annie’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will have a time of visitation one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Calhoun County Senior Citizens Blountstown, Fl or American Heart Association. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
