Bobby Joe Young, Sr., a dedicated member of the Blountstown community and a hard worker in the dredge boat industry for over 33 years, passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on May 20, 1940, in Blountstown, Florida, Bobby's life was marked by his strong work ethic and his love for the outdoors.
He found joy in hunting and fishing, that filled his leisure time and connected him to the natural beauty of the region he called home.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Young; his daughter, Sonya Caver; his brother, James Young; and his cherished grandchildren, Donald and Michelle Young. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law, Josephine Diaz.
Bobby will be lovingly missed by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his sons, Donnie and Joe Young, as well as his parents, Joe Young and Pearl Davis Malloy. His legacy also includes his sisters, Lillian Danley, Ouida O'Brien, and Shirly Pearl Young, who have also passed.
The visitation will take place on September 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown. Interment will follow in Sunny Hill Cemetery near Altha.
Bobby will be remembered for his dedication to his work, love for his family, and the lasting impact he made in the lives of those who knew him.
