She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she dearly adored.
Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Glenwood High school, where she enjoyed her high school years as a cheerleader for the Huskies. Shortly after high school, she married the love of her life, Grady. After moving to Bristol, Florida in the 1970’s and then “across the bridge” to Blountstown, Florida in 1979, Carolyn worked many years as a bookkeeper for Simpson Auto Parts.
She had an unparalleled, passionate love for her family. Though she appeared mild mannered, she was fiercely protective of her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loved deeper than most. She molded each of us to be better humans.
Carolyn was endowed with a tremendous passion for reading, loved beach excursions, and always eagerly anticipated her annual beach trip with the "Vann Clan." Together with her sisters, their daughters, and nieces, they formed many cherished memories, reflected on fond experiences, reminisced their early lives, laughed together, cried together; all of which will be eternally engrained in the minds and hearts of all who attended this annual tradition that spanned over thirty-five years.
Carolyn was a singular individual. Those who knew her intimately were aware of her exceptional sense of humor, which was often unintentionally displayed. Her facial expressions, particularly when deep in thought, or perplexed were comedy gold. These times were often remembered, bringing happiness to all who had shared in the moments! And no doubt, will continue to bring smiles to her family and friends faces, as they continue to gather and cherish the blessing that she was to everyone blessed enough to have her in their lives!
Carolyn was a loving wife, loved her children with an unexplainable passion and fiercely loved her grandchildren. Anyone who knew Carolyn inevitably developed a strong affection for her. Carolyn’s unconditional love and generosity will forever be etched in our hearts, as she was one of the most compassionate and empathetic souls God has graciously blessed her family and friends with.
Services to honor Carolyn's life will be held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel 11:00 AM, Monday, March 9, 2026, with a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Pine Memorial Cemetery near Blountstown.
The family is very grateful for the care that Dr. Steven Spence and Julie Smith at Internal Medicine have provided during this difficult time. An extra special thank you to the Hospice Staff as well. Abigale McComb, Carolyn Bailey, Lacy Anderson and other members of the Hospice team took extra steps to keep our Mother comfortable. For this special care, we are forever grateful.
