Earl Linwood Ellis, "Poley", 80 of Altha, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Born March 18, 1945, the youngest of 7 children to Jeff and Pearls Ellis at River Junction, FL. Then, after attending Grand Ridge High School, he joined the US Army. He worked several years building houses for Mobile Home Industries, then in 1975, moved to Calhoun County to start a farm and spread SCV with his brother Joe. He later became an Indipendent trucker until his retirement. He was an ordained deacon and later served as an elder at Faith Baptist in Marianna, Florida. 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Marlene Bennett Ellis, and his 3 sons, Greg (Peggy) Ellis, Johnny (Julie) Ellis, and Max (Mindy) Ellis, as well as his 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and the exciting news of one on the way. 

The celebration of life will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown on Monday, February 23rd at 11:00 AM.
