It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Osborne, who departed this life on May 3, 2025, in Blountstown, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 21, 1935, in Wewahitchka, Florida, Elizabeth lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to nurturing her loved ones and creating lasting memories.
Elizabeth devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and family. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as shopping and doing laundry, and particularly cherished family get-togethers that brought everyone together in celebration of love and togetherness.
Her legacy lives on through her children: Myrtle Young (Charles), Mary Ann Blackwell (Harry), Rose Ballard (Robert), Annette Williams (Travis), Shelia Cauley (Keith), and Lisa Osborne (Mickey Brown). Elizabeth's family extends with her brother, Jimmy Lee Layfield (Darlene), and sisters, Carolyn Carroll and Linda Lolley. She was also blessed with a God daughter, Lynn Ruckman and special nephew Mike Ruckman. Elizabeth was a proud grandmother to thirteen grandchildren, Scott, April, Billy, Timmy, Tony, Hope, John, Tiffany, Wendee, Ashley, Kristy, Alexis, and Levi and delighted in her twenty-six great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Harry Osborne, her parents, Leroy and Rosie Layfield, and her beloved daughter, Donna Osborne. She was also preceded by her brothers, Tommy Layfield and R.L. Layfield, and her sisters, Erlene Bishop and Juanita Blackwell.
The family will come together to honor Elizabeth's memory at Adams Funeral Home for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Wells and Reverend Ginno Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Abe Springs Cemetery in the Abe Springs Community.
Elizabeth Osborne will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her steadfast love and unwavering devotion to her family will forever remain in their hearts.
