Elma Arnold Kent

Elma Arnold Kent, born on March 17, 1941, in Quincy, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in Southhaven, Mississippi. Elma was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Elma was committed to her family, dedicating herself as a homemaker and creating a loving environment filled with care and support. She will be deeply missed by her children: her son, Charles Kent, and her daughters, Melodie Weigandt and Donna Murray. Elma’s love extended to her grandchildren, Kimberly, Justin, and Brandon, who cherished their time spent with her and will always remember her encouraging spirit. Furthering her legacy, Elma is also survived by three great-grandchildren—Connor, Aaron, and Blake—whose lives she touched with her kindness and affection.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Jefferson Kent, with whom she shared 47 years of companionship and mutual devotion. Elma was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas "Eustus" Arnold; her sisters, Louise Sanders and Sarah Sauls; her father, Kinch Arnold; and her mother, Della Rachel Ann Durden.

Elma’s interests painted a portrait of a vibrant and dynamic individual. She found joy in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, skills she often lovingly shared with her family. An accomplished seamstress, Elma created beautiful handmade garments and crafts that will serve as treasured keepsakes for generations. Her passion for singing filled her home with music, and brought people together in celebration and comfort.

Known for her outgoing personality, Elma was the heart of every gathering, always ready with a welcoming smile and a helping hand. She took great pride in serving her community and was recognized for her unwavering desire to uplift those around her. The legacy she leaves behind is one of generosity, warmth, and an enduring spirit of service.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service honoring Elma’s remarkable life at 1:00 p.m. on August 8, 2026, at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel, located at 18034 Main Street North, Blountstown.

Elma's memory will be forever cherished by those who were lucky enough to know her, and her compassion, zest for life, and unwavering love will remain a guiding light for her loved ones.
