Elma Mullins, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 92 in Blountstown, Florida. Born on July 9, 1932, in Westville, Florida, she dedicated her life to her family, her church, and her various vocations.
Elma began her journey in the working world at a local sewing factory, where her skills and dedication became evident. Following the factory's closure, she found her place at the Oglesby Plant Lab and continued her commitment to service by working for many years at the Blountstown High School Lunchroom. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her kindness and hard work.
A long-time member of the Abe Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, Elma was known for her considerate nature. Her warm spirit made her a pillar in her community, cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Elma’s love for her faith was evident, and she enjoyed participating in church activities that brought people together.
Beyond her professional life, Elma was passionate about nurturing her family and friends. She delighted in cooking, often preparing meals that brought smiles to those she loved. An adept crocheter and avid reader, she spent many hours enjoying her hobbies, as well as tending to her garden and fishing, activities that reflected her love for nature and the outdoors.
Elma is survived by her daughter, Sybil Brown and Janice Godwin and her husband Dennis; her son, Darrell Mullins; as well as six granddaughters, two grandsons, 11 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Etta Huggins; her beloved husband, Coy Mullins; her sons, Richard and Farrell Mullins; her brothers, Edgar, James, and Horace; her sister, Vera Dudley; her son-in-law, Kendall Brown; her sisters-in-law, Patsy Huggins and Yoshi Huggins; her brother-in-law, Ira Dudley; and her daughter-in-law, Desiree Mullins.
Elma will be remembered not only for her contributions to her community and family but also for the lasting impact she made through her compassion and love. A visitation will be held on June 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Reverend Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
