Evan Harrison Guilford, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2025, in Altha, Florida. He was born on June 2, 1968, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Gainey and Shirley Guilford, who have since preceded him in death.
Evan was the proud owner of Guilford Well Drilling, a career that he approached with passion and dedication. His work reflected his commitment to helping others, and he took great pride in providing essential services to those around him.
Beyond his professional life, Evan cherished spending time outdoors, particularly enjoying fishing and creating memories at the Chipola River. He relished the moments shared with family, leaving memories that will resonate through the lives of those he leaves behind.
Evan is survived by his wife, Jill Guilford, and his sons: Harrison Guilford, Corey Guilford, Andrew Guilford, Christopher McCroan, and William Sampson as well as his daughters, Addison Guilford, Shauna Guilford and Kaitlyn Sampson. He was a loving grandfather to Colby Hughes, Kaliyana Franklin, T.J. Franklin, Enoch Hughes, Elijah Hughes, Micah Hughes, and Araea Burns. His bonds with his sisters, Marcia Kitchen (Johnnie), Susan Walden (R.J.), Connie Coxwell, Anita Hall, and Jeanie Spannbauer, were deep and meaningful, sustaining him through the years alongside a very special longtime friend Shawna Melvin and the camaraderie of a wide circle of friends, including Ralph Smith, Jr., Chris O'Brian, Richard Adkins, Chris Adkins, Ricky McDouglad, Travis Parrish, Matt Mears, James "Michael" Bailey, Joey Wise, Donnie Nichols, and countless others including many nieces and nephews who were privileged to know him.
Evan was also preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Guilford, his brother, Robbie Scott, and his sister, Rita Scott. Their memories will forever be intertwined with his legacy.
All are invited to attend a visitation time on Thursday, May 29, 2025 beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with services following at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Michael Morris officiating.
