Fostine Pitts, a cherished member of the Kinard community, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at the age of 87, in Blountstown, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 24, 1937, in Kinard, Fostine dedicated many years of her life working at Hartford Farms, where her passion for gardening flourished.
Fostine’s love for the natural world was evident in her hobbies and interests. She had a profound appreciation for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her plants. Her backyard was a vibrant sanctuary, as she planted flowers and shrubs specifically to attract birds, allowing her to enjoy their beauty and song. Watching birds and appreciating the wonders of nature brought her immense joy.
Fostine is survived by her beloved daughters, Rhonda Strickland, Sandra Wallace (Robert), Donna Mercer (David), and Lisa Williams (Billy). She also leaves behind sisters Earline Frisbee and Lenorah Shelton, along with six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great pride and happiness.
Fostine was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Pitts, and her sisters Lucille McGill, Nadine Brogdon, and Rebecca Daniels as well as her brothers Robert, Bobby and Billy Daniels. Their memories will forever remain a part of her, as she cherished the bonds they shared throughout her life.
A graveside service will be held on May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cypress Creek Cemetery in Kinard, Florida, where family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and love for nature.
