Gary Russell Carpenter, Sr.

Gary Russell Carpenter, Sr., born on March 15, 1949, in Exeter, New Hampshire, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. He was a proud graduate of Northern Essex Community College, where he earned an Associate's degree in Business Management.

Gary had a successful career as a manager at Lowe's, where he demonstrated his strong leadership skills and dedication to excellence. Known for his easy-going and fun-loving personality, he made a lasting impression on those around him and was cherished by colleagues and customers alike.

An avid sports enthusiast, Gary found joy in watching a variety of games, particularly horse racing and Red Sox baseball. His passion for sports was matched only by his dedication to his family. He had a distinct hobby of buying gold, saving for his grandchildren's futures—a testament to his caring nature and desire to provide for his loved ones.

Socially, Gary thrived on meeting new people and forging friendships, leaving behind a network of connections that spanned various aspects of his life. He is survived by his son, Gary Carpenter, Jr.; daughter, Cathie Waites; sister, Dawn Cassidy, Susan Knous, Deborah Brochu, Cindy Miccile, Linda Cook and Debbie Hewins; his grandchildren, Briana Waree, Shaun Waites, Julia Pridgen and Michael Carpenter as well as nine great grandchildren, Jayce, Brently, Carter, Adalynn, Jared, Tucker, Shaun III, Austyn and Jonathan all of whom will carry forward his legacy of kindness and generosity.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Russell Carpenter and Dorothy Ayers, whose influence on his life shaped the values he upheld. His memory will continue to be honored through the love and cherished moments he shared with his family and friends.
