James Cullen Alday, a beloved son, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2025, at the age of 80 in Altha, Florida, where he was born on December 14, 1944.

James dedicated his life to carpentry, a profession in which he took great pride, demonstrating both skill and craftsmanship that earned him the respect of peers and clients alike. His hands shaped not just wood, but homes and dreams, leaving a lasting mark on his community.

He served honorably in the United States Army, a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to serving his country. James was not only a soldier, but also an avid outdoorsman who found joy and solace in nature. His adventurous spirit often led him to explore the beauty of the outdoors, creating cherished memories that he carried with him throughout his life.

James is survived by his sons, William Alday and John Alday; his daughter, Lori Butler; his brother, Gene Alday; and his cherished grandchildren, Annabella, Aleanor, and Adelina. The family grieves deeply for his loss, remembering him as a guiding light and a source of strength.

A memorial gathering to honor James will be held on June 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many.
