James F. Pippin, 70 of Cottondale, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Dothan. James was born May 12, 1954, in Marianna to the late Jake and Ida Lou Pippin. After High School James joined the United States Navy and went to work at Abitibi in Blountstown soon after. He later became a correctional officer and retired with ACI after twenty-five years of service. James was always a wealth of knowledge and had a huge heart. He enjoyed fishing, old westerns and guns especially enjoyed Cowboy Action Shooting.
James is preceded by his wife Eliza “Ann” Pippin who he cared for during her illness. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Bush, a son, Richard “Ricky” Rowley and a sister, Susan Pippin.
Survivors include his son, Chris Bush and his wife Karen of Cottondale; a brother, Allen Pippin and his wife Mindy of Mobile, a sister, Barbara McDaniel of Marianna; a daughter in law, Delilah Rowley; his grandchildren, Amberliegh Miles and her husband Jeremy, James Johnson, Rebecca Adams and her fiancé Mario Parrilla, Sierra Bush and her fiancé Carson Stocke, David Bush, Corey Rogers and Madison Rogers; his great grandchildren, Annabelle, Emilia, Harrison, Brooklyn and Jaxon. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A memorial service to honor James’ life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home with Reverend David Goodman officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
