Janice Faye Fielder, 70 of Altha, a cherished member of her community, passed away on January 21, 2026, in Panama City, Florida, after a brief illness. Born on November 19, 1955, in Marianna, Florida, Janice spent her life dedicated to service, both in her profession as a correctional officer and within her community.
A proud and loving mother, she is survived by her sons, Christopher Fielder and his wife Sandra, and Stephen Fielder. Janice was also a devoted sister, leaving behind Patricia Fielder, Barbara Lipford and her husband Ronnie, and Sandra Franklin. As a grandmother, she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Jae Fielder and wife Becky, Chase Fielder and fiancé Katelin Fielder, Kinslee Fielder, Harley Fielder, Emily Fielder, Elliot Fielder, Serenity Britt and husband Gariel, Traeyton Lipford, Olivia Davis, and Travis Davis. Additionally her great-grandchild, Gabriel Britt, Jr., who brought her immense joy.
Janice was a long-time member of Hasty Pond Church, where she found solace and community. Her love for her church was evident in her active participation, and she cherished the bonds formed with fellow members. Beyond her faith, she enjoyed fishing at every opportunity, relished traveling, and most importantly, treasured spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys Howard, as well as her husband, Chris Fielder. Her legacy of love and commitment to family, service, and faith serves as an enduring example to all who knew her.
A time of visitation will be held on January 28, 2026, beginning 11:00 AM at Hasty Pond Church with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Hasty Pond Cemetery.
Janice will be deeply missed by her family, friends, her church and the community she served so well.
