Jeannine Gayout Pitts, of Kinard, Florida, passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on April 16, 1936, in Tours, France.

Jeannine will be remembered for a life devoted to children and to learning. She served as a librarian at Blountstown Elementary School for 36 years, offering steady guidance and care to generations of students. She loved children and had a deep passion for helping them succeed, a calling that shaped both her work and the lasting impression she made on those around her.

Her family was a cherished part of her life. She is survived by her sons, Willy Pitts and wife Karen, Pat Pitts and wife Monica, and Phillip Pitts; her brothers, Joel and Jack Gayout; and her sister, Jacqueline Debernard. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sarah Young (Aaron), Savanah Phillips (Dillon), Marsana Bruner (Charlie), and Patrick Pitts (Aly), as well as her great-grandchildren, Dexter, Sia, Esme, Ivy, Banks, Annalyn, Kirby, Briggs, and Lilliana. May their memories of Jeannine bring comfort and continue to reflect the love and encouragement she shared throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Pitts; her brother, Jean Gayout; her parents, Jean and Irene Gayout.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Rivertown Community Church, in Blountstown. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Dustin Malphurs officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Jeannine will be remembered with love and gratitude for her kindness, her dedication, and the difference she made in the lives of children and family alike.
