John Ellis Davis

John Ellis Davis, born on September 16, 1954, in Jackson County, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026. He was 71 years old.

John spent his early childhood in Jackson County before moving to Riverview, Florida, at the age of two. He graduated from East Bay High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force for 10½ years. His military service reflected the dedication, integrity, and quiet strength that would define his life.

John’s life was shaped by the values of kindness, loyalty, and a deep love for family instilled by his parents, the late George Henry Davis, Jr. and Bernice Basford Davis. Throughout his life, he exemplified these values in every way, leaving a legacy founded on compassion, humility, and genuine care for others.

John found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, scuba diving, playing poker, watching John Wayne movies, building computers, and reading books. The Recipe Box Altha Diner held a special place in both his heart and his stomach, as it was one of his favorite places to enjoy a good meal. Above all else, John treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. Those moments together were what mattered most to him, and they will remain among the memories his loved ones hold most dear.

John is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by his devoted family. He is survived by his beloved sister, Dee Massey, and her husband, Cris Massey, who stood by his side throughout life's joys and challenges. He also leaves behind his niece, Cristina Massey; his nephew, Travis Massey, and his wife, Nikki; and his two great-nephews, Maverick and Atlas Massey, all of whom cherished his wisdom, humor, and unwavering love.

Although John now joins his parents, George Henry Davis, Jr. and Bernice Basford Davis, in eternal rest, the lessons they shared and the values they instilled continue to live on through those who knew and loved him. His memory will endure not only within his family but also in the countless lives he touched through his kindness and friendship.

A memorial service honoring John's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown, with Reverend John Hagan officiating. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join in celebrating his life and sharing in the memories he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or North Florida Animal Rescue. For those who wish to send floral arrangements, they may be delivered to Adams Funeral Home.
