He is survived by his beloved partner Lisa Brooks; his devoted son Caleb Mills and daughter-in-law Savannah; and his cherished daughter Taylor Mills. John also leaves behind his brothers Christopher Howell (wife Cindy), Brian Mills, Robert Mills, and William Riley (wife Tracy); and his sisters Tammy Hubbart (husband Gene), Vanessa Powell (husband Ronnie), and Vicki Baxter (husband Wayne). His legacy extends to his dear grandchildren, Jasey and Dailly Mills, who brought immense happiness to his later years.

John was preceded in death by his father, Robert Howell; his mother, Christine Hagan; and his sister, Brenda Emertt. Their memories remain an enduring part of his story.
