Johnnie Faye McLendon, of Blountstown, passed away on November 7, 2026, in Panama City, with her family by her side. She was born on October 26, 1940, in Clarksville, Florida, and lived a life marked by devotion to family, creativity, and the simple, enduring joys that gather people close.
Faye worked in the cafeteria at Blountstown Elementary School until her retirement. In that role, as in so many parts of her life, she offered care in ways both practical and heartfelt. She was family-loving and very creative, a woman who expressed affection through welcome, warmth, and the thoughtful things she made and shared. She loved to cook, enjoyed traveling, and treasured time spent reminiscing with friends. During the holidays especially, her kitchen became an expression of her love, as she delighted in cooking and making things for her grandchildren, creating memories that will remain part of family celebrations for years to come.
At the center of Faye’s life was the family she cherished so deeply. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda McLendon, and her son, Paul Ross. She also leaves her grandchildren, Brandon, Nick, Brent and his wife Angel, and Brittney and her husband Nick, along with her great-grandchildren, Jamie, Jaden, Leann, Anakin, Kai, Marleigh, Brantley, Chandler, Gunner, and Lilly. Also holding a special place in her life was her special K9 companion, Shy. The love she gave so freely lives on in each of them, in shared stories, holiday traditions, and the many small kindnesses that become a family’s inheritance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James McLendon; her son, Donnie McLendon; and her brother, George Burch. Their memories remained part of her life’s story, and she now rests with those who went before her.
Visitation will be held on November 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home with a funeral service directly following at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Darrell Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery.
Faye will be remembered for the love she poured into her family, the meals she prepared, the stories she shared, and the creative, generous spirit she carried through her life. Her memory will remain a comfort and blessing to all who knew and loved her.
