Johnny L. Harvard, of Clarksville, passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 77, in Panama City, Florida. Born on February 25, 1948, in Lake Wells, Florida, Johnny's life was marked by a strong sense of family, adventure, and service to his country.
Johnny served with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, an experience that not only shaped his character but also instilled in him a deep sense of pride and commitment to his loved ones and his community. He carried this spirit of dedication into all aspects of his life, embodying the role of a loving father to his children and a caring presence to those around him.
He is survived by his son, Johnny L. Harvard Jr. and his companion Amy; daughters, Amanda Amico, Jennifer Lynn Branch, and Jessica J. Sloan; and four grandchildren who brought joy and laughter to his life. He also leaves behind brothers Gerald and George Harvard, who shared fond memories of their time together, including hunting trips and family gatherings. His beloved dog Koko was a constant companion, shining a light on his affectionate personality.
Johnny was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, known for his love of hunting and fishing. His passion for adventure and military service led him to travel the world twice, creating unforgettable memories and stories to share with those he loved. Johnny's warmth and devotion will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Dale, Jake, and Yale Harvard, his sister Ileen Sontage, and his parents Leonard and Velma Harvard.
A graveside service will be held at Harvard Cemetery in Clarksville, on January 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with family and friends gathering to honor and celebrate Johnny's remarkable life.
