Kevin Scott Husted

Kevin Scott Husted, 57, of Marianna went home to be with his heavenly father Sunday, April 12 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by family members who loved him dearly.  Kevin's story began in Miami on Christmas day of 1968 when God sent him as a very special gift to Glenda and Ivan Husted. No better parents could have been chosen to raise this precious child. He was raised in a loving home and he showed love to everyone he met.

As he grew up and was physically able, Kevin enjoyed may activities with his family and friends after moving to Marianna. He loved going bowling every weekend with his brother Keith as well as going hunting and fishing with his brother in law Robert. He loved driving his golf cart that was specially detailed to look like the "General lee", even having the horn that sounded like the original. He beamed with a huge smile when he drove it in the Sunland Christmas Parade. He loved going to car shows, especially if the "General Lee" was one of the cars being shown. A highlight of his life was meeting John Schneider (Bo Duke). Oher special moments were when he met his idols, Richard Petty as well as wrestler Rick Flair. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother and father, his grandmother Genevieve Roberts, his brothers Ed Caplinger and Jerry Husted and his sister in law Vicky Husted.

He is survived by his sister Debra Webster (Jack), his brother Keith Caplinger (Belinda), sister Dea Jones (Robert), brother Russell Husted, sister in law, Linda Husted as well as several loving nieces and nephews. Also among those who will miss him dearly are his two little dogs "Daisy Duke" and "Dolly Digger". Kevin was their favorite person in the world.

Special thanks to Dr. Gay and his staff at Chipola Medical Associates, we couldn't have asked for anyone to have provided better care and to have been more considerate to Kevin and his family.

To Hospice of the Emerald Coast, especially Reverend Gino Mayo and Liz Krauser, RN, words cannot express our thanks for all you have done for Kevin and for our family during his last days.

Finally thank you to Marianna health and Rehabilitation for the are given to Kevin and for your consideration of our family members during this time.

No services are planned at this time but his family will have a private memorial service at a later days. Memorialization will be by cremation.
