Linda Abbott of Altha, born on January 12, 1942, in Cross City, Florida to the late Daniel and Mae Dessie Goff, passed away January 8, 2026, in Panama City. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Linda's legacy is shaped by her dedicated roles within her family. She was a nurturing mother to her sons, Henry and his wife Frances, and to her daughter, Lisa Ann Sargent and her husband Donald. Linda found great joy in being a grandmother to her grandchildren, whom she helped raise: Jessica, Roger, Tiffany, Stephanie, Jasmine, Michael, Burton, and Susana. In addition, she was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Throughout her life, Linda was known for her culinary skills and sewing expertise, earning her a reputation as a great cook and a talented seamstress. Friends and family alike delighted in her delicious meals and the beautiful quilts she crafted. Her hobbies included thrifting and spending quality time with her family, which brought her immense happiness.
Linda is also survived by her loving brother, Charles Goff, and sisters, Nettie Roberts and husband Paul, and Annie Wise and husband Royce, who will remember her fondly. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Other than her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Abbott, her son, Glenn Abbott, as well as her brothers Elmer, John, Billy Joe, and Thomas Goff, and her sister Mary Frances Baggett. They welcomed her with open arms, ready to embrace her once more.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on January 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with at time of visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery near Clarksville. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to a remarkable woman who devoted her life to her loved ones.
