Linda Sue Conway, born on August 30, 1951, in Bryant, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2026, in Fountain, Florida. She will be remembered as a devoted nursing assistant who touched many lives with her dedication and care.
Linda was often regarded as a funny and straightforward person, never shying away from speaking her mind. Her amazing nature as a wife and mother was evident to all who knew her. Linda had a profound love for her family, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the lights of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will forever resonate within the hearts of those she left behind. She was a talented singer and would often times sing with a band. She also enjoyed bartending and karaoke singing her favorite song, These Boots Were Made for Walking.
Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed spending time with friends at Amvets, a space where laughter and camaraderie flourished. Her interests in fishing, gardening, and cooking brought joy to her daily routine, allowing her to share her passions with her loved ones. Linda's joyful spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Jeff Conway and Jesse Conway, alongside his wife Salina; her daughter, Tracy Johnson, and her husband Larry; her brother, Gene Whitaker; and her sister, Minnie Otts. Linda took immense pride in her family, which included grandchildren Jessie Conway, Jenna Conway, Ashley Wooten, Emily Wooten, Jeffery Schatti, Ashley Yates, and Taylor Veal. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, Luna Wooten, Artist Sims, and Lyric Sims. Linda's loyal dog companion, Bailey, will also miss her dearly.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Bill Conway; her parents, Horace and Dora Jane Whitaker; her brothers, Peewee, Paul, Timmy, and J.C. Whitaker; and her sisters, Geraldine Whitaker and Mary Cloud. Each of these beloved family members held a special place in her heart that she carried with her throughout her life.
Linda Sue Conway’s legacy of love, humor, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, illuminating their days with the warmth of her memory.
