Lula Mae Allen, peacefully passed away on February 21, 2026, in Blountstown. Born on October 18, 1938, in Altha, Florida, she dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving environment for her family and friends.
Lula was a woman of many talents, best known for her passion for cooking and her green thumb in the garden. She delighted in spending time outdoors, tending to her flowers and nurturing her surroundings. Her kitchen was a haven filled with the delightful aromas of her culinary creations, where she often welcomed those she loved to gather. Her love extended beyond her home as she made it a point to check on her friends regularly; her considerate spirit touched the hearts of many.
Family was central to Lula's every day. She was a devoted mother to her sons, William Allen and his wife Wanda, and Glen Allen and his wife Sheri; as well as her daughters, Jo Ann Steward and her husband Jeff, and Joyce Allen. Lula's legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She cherished the moments spent with her family, particularly enjoying time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and laughter. She was also a long time member of Blountstown Community Church.
Among her many interests, Lula Mae had a love for thrifting, where she found unique treasures to share with others. She had a particular fondness for strawberry milkshakes and anything chocolate, indulgences that brought her happiness.
Lula joins her late husband, John "Jack" Allen, who predeceased her, along with her parents, Charlie and Dora Tipton. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Jr., Bud, Leon, William, and Dick Tipton, and her sisters, Polly Young and Willene Meads.
Her community and family will gather to celebrate her life at visitation and funeral services held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown, Florida. The visitation will take place on February 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
