Michael V. Futch, a devoted man of faith, skilled custom cabinet maker, and beloved member of the New Beginnings Community Church, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, in Blountstown, Florida. Born on April 22, 1960, in Clearwater, Florida, Michael lived a life rich in craftsmanship, faith, and family devotion.
Michael’s expertise and passion for custom cabinetry made him a respected figure in his trade. His work reflected not only skill but also his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to quality. Alongside his professional pursuits, Michael found joy and exhilaration in the world of racing. A true enthusiast of NASCAR and drag racing, he cherished the thrill of the track, especially racing his own cars at Powerhouse Dragway. These moments captured the essence of his spirited and vibrant personality.
A man guided by steadfast Christian beliefs, Michael was a committed member of New Beginnings Community Church, where his faith served as a cornerstone of his life. His spiritual commitments resonated deeply within his family and community, exemplifying the virtues of compassion, integrity, and steadfastness.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Futch, who stood by him as a partner and companion. He was a proud father to his sons, Raymond Earl Smith and his wife Mary, and Terry Ray Smith, each carrying forward his legacy of perseverance and faith. Michael’s family extended further through his sisters Monnie Nugent (and her husband Steve), Michelle Alexander, Marcie Szuba (and her husband Kenny), Melissa Hamilton (and her husband Chris), and Stacy Lynn Futch. His devotion to family was also evident in the joy he found in his grandchildren—Dakota, Miesha, Joshua, Caleb, Solomon, George, Logan, and Maddie—who brought light and love into his later years. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who remember him fondly.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Jane Futch, and his brother, David Szars, whose legacy lives on through his life and the family he nurtured.
His passing marks the loss of a man whose faith, craftsmanship, and love for family and racing left an indelible imprint on all who knew him. Michael Futch will be remembered with respect, love, and admiration by his family, friends, and community. His life stands as a testament to the values he cherished and the passions he pursued with heart and dedication.
