Perry Maxwell White, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by family in his hometown of Quincy, Florida. Born on November 2, 1943, in Quincy, Perry dedicated his life to being a pillar of strength and kindness within his community.
Having built a career as a truck driver, Perry was known for his hard work and reliability on the road. However, it was not just his profession that defined him; it was his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need that made a lasting impression on all who knew him. Described as very kind to everyone he met, Perry was an independent person who enjoyed doing things himself, contributing to his strong sense of character.
Maxwell had a zest for life that was reflected in his hobbies. He found joy in hunting and fishing, often relishing the tranquil moments spent outdoors. Most importantly, he treasured the time spent with his family and friends, especially with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These moments created lasting memories that will be carried on through those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Donna White; his daughter, Cathy Owens, and her husband, Dewayne; his brother, Massey White; and his sisters, Joann Hart and her husband, Billy, and Linda Sloat. Along with his immediate family, Perry leaves behind grandchildren Jake Harris and his wife, Ginna, Colby Owens and his wife, Sarah, Montana Barber and her husband, Lucas, as well as Abigail Owens and Paige Owens. He was also a proud grandfather to five great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy into his life.
Maxwell was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Maggie White; his son, Edward Allen White; his brothers, Otha White and Preston White; a sister, Lucille Black and a brother-in-law, Donnie. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart, and their memories will always be cherished.
A visitation to honor his life will be held on September 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Bethel Assembly of God with Reverend Clyde Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery near Quincy. Perry's legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
