Terry Michael Hale

Terry Michael Hale, 71, passed away on May 31, 2025, at his home in Altha, Florida. Terry, although he preferred to go by “Michael”, was born on August 16, 1953, in Princeton, Indiana, to the late Eugene and Helen Hale.

Michael graduated from Princeton Community High School in 1971, and then received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Texas at San Antonio in 1984. Prior to attending the University of Texas at San Antonio, Michael served in the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base, from 1975-1980, earning the rank of Sergeant, where he received training as a Medical Laboratory Specialist. While in the Air Force, Michael received the following decorations: Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

For forty years, Michael worked at hospitals in Texas, southern Indiana, and southern Illinois, working as a Laboratory Technician; retiring from Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Illinois in 2015.

Michael would say his proudest accomplishment was raising his daughter, April, as a single father. Michael met his wife, Rebecca “Becky” while working at Wabash General Hospital, and the two were married on April 26, 2002. After retirement, Michael and Becky moved to Florida to enjoy the warm sunshine. Michael loved to garden, cook, play with his dogs, and cheer on his beloved Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Indiana Hoosiers. His most cherished memories were relaxing at the beach with his family and playing in the sand with his granddaughter, Tinley.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Becky; daughter, April (Randy) Woodruff; granddaughter, Tinley Woodruff; sisters Carrol Ready, Sharon Davis, Sandy Collins, Debbie Woolsey, and Lisa Beadles; many nieces and nephews; Harrison stepfamily Sara, Pensacola, FL; Robert (Michelle), Sharpsville, IN; James (Melissa) Albion, IL and Rindy, Albion, IL. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Helen Hale.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Adams Funeral Home to offset expenses.
