Born on February 14, 1960, in Clintwood, Virginia, Valarie carried the warmth and light of her hometown throughout her life.
Free-spirited and full of joy, Valarie created lasting memories with her loved ones, often celebrating holidays with a heart full of gratitude and love. Her passion for life was evident in her affection for vibrant colors, particularly purple, and her fondness for butterflies, which symbolized the beauty of transformation and freedom.
Valarie is survived by her two daughters, Kayla Carnley and her husband Jeffery Wayne of Dothan, Alabama, and Jessica Marie and her husband David of Tallahassee, Florida. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother, nurturing and loving her four grandchildren - Rosa Waldron, Jarret Carnley, Ian Bishop, and Owen Bishop - with all the affection a grandmother could offer.
Additionally, she is survived by her brother Allen Mullins and nephew Brian Schneider of Fredericksburg, Virginia, nephew Greg Schneider, and numerous family members spread across the United States, who will miss her dearly.
Valarie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Ricky Hires, her brother Collin Mullins, and her sister Rena Schneider. The love and memories shared with all of these departed family members continue to live on through Valarie’s legacy of kindness and compassion.
