William "Rat" Albert Keel

William "Rat" Albert Keel, a beloved truck driver and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, in Blountstown, Florida. He was born on December 30, 1932, in Altha, Florida, and dedicated much of his life to his family, community, and career.

Known affectionately by the nickname "Rat," William was deeply rooted in his faith as a member of the Pentecostal church. His strong work ethic was evident in his career as a truck driver, a vocation he cherished immensely. Beyond his professional life, William found joy in fishing, often relishing the quiet moments by the water and sharing his love for the outdoors with family and friends.

A proud military veteran, William served in the United States Army during the Korean War. His commitment to his country was a testament to his character and service, which remains respected and honored by those who knew him.

William is survived by his two daughters, Linda Keel and Wanda Keel, who will carry on his legacy of love and strength. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Hazel Jobeck, and his grandson, Travis Keel, who cherish the memories of their time together. His spirit will live on through his great-grandchildren, Aubree and Liam Keel.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Keel, whose absence he felt deeply. He is also reunited in spirit with his son, William "Sonny" Keel, his daughter, Debbie Keel McFarland, and his parents, Charlie Keel and Etta Tucker. Each of them holds a special place in the memories of those who remain.

A graveside service will be held at 2;00 P.M. on September 2, 2025, at Pine Memorial Cemetery near Blountstown, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
